Individual planning, consulting and optimisation
PLANATEL® Planungs- und Beratungsgesellschaft mbH is an independent planning and consulting company for security, communications and information technology. We have been active in the market since 1992 and always work independently of manufacturers and service providers.
As a specialised security planner we focus on the planning of, and consulting on, security systems and installations, from security concepts through fire alarm and intrusion detection technology to video security, access management and overarching security management systems. For just as long we have planned telecommunications and communication systems and the information technology beneath them: the name PLANATEL stands for “Planung und Analyse von Telekommunikationsanlagen”, and modern security technology can no longer be planned without networks, transmission technology and IT security. We work for you throughout Germany and across Europe.

How we work
Planning
From the as-is survey, needs analysis, target concept and detailed design through tendering and award to acceptance, reliably and in line with the prescribed guidelines, laws and standards.
Optimisation
We look at your costs as a whole. Our fee is calculated as a share of the savings achieved. You therefore take no risk with us.
Project management
We define project goals and milestones with you, maintain continuous project communication and protect your internal resources.
For companies, corporate groups and operators of critical infrastructure
Our clients are companies and corporate groups from almost every sector, from industry and retail through banking and healthcare to public administration. We are frequently engaged directly by corporate security departments, particularly on complex projects and when building within existing structures. We work exclusively for companies, corporate groups and the public sector.
Security and specialist departments
You receive a defensible basis for decisions, comparable tenders and specialist planning that supports your case with management and insurers.
Operators of critical infrastructure
We plan verifiably along the regulatory requirements placed on KRITIS operators and document it so that it withstands scrutiny by authorities and auditors.
Investors and building owners
We look at total cost rather than purchase price: manufacturer-independent tendering, auditable maintenance contracts and systems that survive the next change of tenant.
Public sector clients
Procurement-compliant, product-neutral specifications, transparent evaluation matrices and the technical review of the tenders received.
Frequently asked questions about PLANATEL
What does PLANATEL do?
PLANATEL is an independent planning and consulting company for security, communications and information technology, based in Hamburg. Since 1992 we have planned, advised on and optimised security systems and installations, telecommunications and communication systems and the underlying information technology, manufacturer-independently and across all project phases.
Is PLANATEL genuinely manufacturer-independent?
Yes. Our recommendations are based solely on the facts relevant to your business. We do not sell products, we do not install systems, and we maintain no ties to manufacturers or installers.
Does PLANATEL install systems as well?
No. We plan and advise, nothing else. Installation is carried out by an installer of your choice. We prepare the manufacturer-independent tender, support the award and supervise execution through to acceptance.
Who does PLANATEL work for?
For security and specialist departments in companies and corporate groups, for operators of critical infrastructure, for investors and building owners, and for public sector clients. We do not advise private customers.
Where does PLANATEL operate?
Our head office is in Hamburg; from here we coordinate projects across Europe, with a focus on Germany. We support our clients’ international properties on a project basis.
How does PLANATEL differ from a building services engineer?
A building services engineer plans the entire technical building equipment, in which security technology is one trade among many. We specialise in security, communications and information technology, train specifically in these fields, and are strongest where it becomes complex: at the interfaces between trades, standards, and coordination with expert assessors.
