For you as a building owner or operator, this means: every 3 years, after significant changes, and upon initial commissioning, you are obliged to demonstrate the perfect interaction of the various systems in and around the building with heavy public footfall.
What is the operational-principle chain?
The operational-principle chain describes the precise interaction of the systems used in a building. Among other things, it is set out and recorded in the fire scenario matrix, a highly complex tabular overview that covers every scenario in an emergency. Especially in an emergency, it is critical that all components involved in fire protection work together perfectly. This is absolutely essential, particularly for buildings and public facilities.
Does the lift travel to the ground floor in the event of a fire? Are, for example, the ventilation system, barriers and gates opened? And is the alarm triggered to initiate evacuation? All of these points are part of the operational-principle chain and must be planned and considered with the greatest care.
